Biography :

Ahmed Khan is thought of as Pakistan’s greatest living calligraphic artist. His work comprises overlaid calligraphic designs based on silver foil pressed on canvas which with a sprinkle of chemicals turns them into vibrant colours. His calligraphic forms are meticulously applied on this base. Many of his themes deal with the Oneness of God and the desire for peace.

Biography :

Tassaduq was born in Jullandhar b1930 and has studied at St. Martin College of Art, London. He has been living in England for a number of years and has only recently returned to Pakistan. Being a short story writer, a striking feature of his work are the titles of his paintings. They seem to have a profound connection with the images, depicting the cynicism and the scorn of the artist. A remarkable feature is his ability to say a lot in very limited space. His work is almost in miniature style, painting fetching details on minute canvases. Tassaduq claims his best works stem from bouts of depression. “I express my state of mind, regardless of how it will be interpreted.” His work is primarily narrative, and is laden with symbols. Trees, caves, old castles, fish, mermaids, even nudes, often appear in his paintings. People like his work because they sense a story in it. The symbols in his paintings are not for decoration…” they provide my art with depth and meaning”. They add a surreal touch that is very important, and makes a painting more than just an image.

Biography :

Mashkoor Raza, a prolific artist who paints horses and women, he is a established Figurative Abstract, Non-representational Abstract and Calligraphy painter . Creating transparency with parts of basic forms of square, circle and triangles on his canvases, and abstract images of woman and horse, he shows versatility of handling his subject, paints, and composition. He creates aesthetic transparent impressions through which his images adopt varying shapes. His exceptional energies combined with passion and patience bring forth canvases, papers, and boards decorated with fuming horses and silent nudes on the one hand and cool compositions with harmonious colours, on the other. His calligraphic art is also exceptional. Here he remains cool and calm with his palette creating a feel of antiquity. Although he is loyal to his usual palette, on two or three occasions, he was violent making full use of red. Despite his spontaneity, Mashkoor keeps his fingers on the pulse of his viewers.
